The Central Library is the core hub of the knowledge landscape of Dhemaji College. The Dhemaji College Library was established to cater to the needs of the students and teachers of the College. It not only helps in supporting the classroom programmes. Our Mission is the high standards of excellence in the preservation of knowledge in regard to the Research provided to users. The Library functions basically to assist and support the study and teaching in all disciplines covered by the College. It helps to meet the reading requirements of the learning and teaching members of the College. The Library serves the students, faculty and employees of the college in their curriculum preparation, leisure reading, teaching and research activities.

The Dhemaji College has a modern computerized library having more than 28608 collections of text and reference books. Besides books, the library also subscribes to a good number of periodicals, Research Journals and has purchased popular magazines, daily and weekly regional and national news papers. The Library has a reference Section also. Library follows open access system and using SOUL 2.0 software (Software for University Libraries). The process of automation began in 2008. It has also introduced Barcode for smooth running of day to day library work. The Dhemaji College Library has several specialized collection for readers, such as- Gandhi Corner, Human Rights corner , Ambedkar study corner, Travel and Tourism, Wild Life and Fishery Corner, Herbal Medicinal Plants corner, Ethnic Corner, North East corner, Women Study corner , Late Keshab Gogoi Corner ,Book Bank for poor students etc.

Our library organizes orientation programme every year for students of first year to create awareness about the library services and rules for better use of the library. Library Orientation is conducted in the beginning of the academic Year. Orientation is introduced by the library to the freshman to train the users in how to use library and provided adequate information on library collection.

Since the establishment of the College library in 1966, the library was named Dhemaji College Library. But on 30 Sep 2019, it was dedicated to the loving memory of the former founder Principal of Dhemaji College, Late Bhaben Chandra Pegu and renamed as ‘ Bhaben Chandra Pegu Library’.

The College has a well furnished computerized Library with sufficient number of books, journals, newspapers etc.
